Travelling to Ancient Persia for a Purim Journey
On Purim, the story of Esther takes us to Shushan, traditionally associated with ancient Persia. To this day, many Persian Jews refer to themselves as the “Children of Esther.” Our very own Tina Ahava Azarin is delighted to speak to her narrative as a Persian Jew. She’ll enlighten us about the Jewish community of Iran and speak to the history of the community as well as highlighting various Persian Purim customs. Charmed by the traditional megillah reading, join us for this more modern tale on a journey of discovery. We’ll even provide Persian treats alongside hamentashen!
Temple Family Communal Seder
It’s been too long, we finally have the opportunity to gather IN PERSON for our festive Passover meal. Quite fitting, this will be one of our last opportunities before we pack up and begin a wilderness phase to the Promised Land. Rabbi Mikelberg and Evan Weiner are delighted to lead a family friendly Passover Seder. We’ll have you singing, reflecting, playing and of course noshing during this creative ritual feast.
Pre-Paid RSVP required before March 22.
Cost; Adult $95, Child (7-12) $40.

Movie: Turn Left at the End of the World
We’ll trade the popcorn for latkes and watch an Israeli classic film about an Indian family settling in Israel in the 1960’s. Israel Embassy spokesperson Eli Lipshitz will lead us in a conversation to follow on the diversity of Israeli society today. Please call the office if you need help with transportation.
