Temple Town Hall on Implicit Bias
October 28, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
On Rosh Hashana, Rabbi Mikelberg challenged us to remove our blinders and address our implicit biases. This includes personal soul searching as to our beliefs on race as well as an institutional examination of our everyday practices with regards to inclusion. Please join us for a virtual conversation facilitated by Tema Smith, a Toronto based mixed diversity advocate. Together, we will try to understand the prevalence of racism in our society and pursue a pathway forward.
Tema Smith is a mixed race diversity advocate, writer and Jewish community builder. Tema is also a contributing columnist at The Forward whose writing has been published in MyJewishLearning, the Globe and Mail, and the Canadian Jewish News. Tema is dedicated to building a meaningful and inclusive Jewish community through research, training, writing and relational engagement work.
Please RSVP to the office at reception@templeisraelottawa.com for zoom details (will be sent a few days prior to the event).
