1. Reporting Relationship:
The Youth Advisor reports to the Chair of the Youth Committee.

2. General:
Temple Israel’s Youth Group FROSTY (Federation of Ottawa Senior Temple Youth) exists to encourage Jewish affiliation, develop leadership potential, to promote knowledge of Reform Jewish practices and values and to foster a love of Judaism among Temple Israel’s youth.

Under the supervision of the Chair of Temple Israel’s Youth Committee, the Youth Advisor is responsible for providing guidance and facilitating leadership development in a safe and wholesome environment in which these objectives can be pursued through youth led and youth operated activities.

3 a) meet periodically with the FROSTY Executive as needed to schedule programs and activities;

b) communicate in a regular, consistent and timely fashion through a variety of media (text, facebook, email, telephone) and members of the FROSTY execute ve as well as the general membership to help foster a positive and mentoring relationship with members;

c) facilitate youth led planning and running of programs and religious services;

d) provide logistical support for youth group activities;

e) drive or ensure provision of transportation for FROSTY members to and from activities on an as needed basis;

f) advertise and otherwise promote participation in FROSTY programming to members, potential members and member parents in a timely fashion to optimize participation in these events;

g) ensure that members are aware of and comply with the NFTY B’rit K’hilah (code of conduct)

h) promote membership in FROSTY from amongst members of Temple JYG and the broader Temple and Jewish community.

i) communicate with parents on as needed basis to provide timely information regarding upcoming FROSTY and NFTY activities.

4. Work cooperatively with Temple Israel Religious School.

5. FROSTY YOUTH mentoring JYG.

6. Report, meet and communicate regularly with the Chair of the Youth Committee. Attend Youth Committee meetings as needed.

7. From time to time there will be out of town gatherings which advisor will lead.

8. Perform other related duties that may arise from time to time.
